Louis Vuitton Celebrates Paris, Amsterdam, and Indonesia in New City Guide, City Book, and Travel Books

April 30, 2024

As summer 2024 approaches, luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton is set to release four captivating new additions to its publishing métier in the summer of 2024. The upcoming titles include a special-edition Paris City Guide, the first-ever Paris City Book, and two new Travel Books featuring Amsterdam and Indonesia.

In celebration of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, Louis Vuitton is releasing an exclusive special edition of its City Guide Paris, entirely devoted to sports practices in the French capital. The guide examines the different faces of Paris' sporting life, exploring each neighborhood's athletic culture, favorite disciplines, great local figures, and gear preferences. Filled with carefully curated listings, deep dives into the history and culture of sports in Paris, practical information, and profiles of local figures, this edition is a must-have for sports enthusiasts visiting the city.

The City Book Paris, the first adaptation of the City Guide in coffee-table book form, offers a fresh, in-depth look at the French capital, unearthing its buried treasures and probing its profound changes. As Paris grows and evolves, Louis Vuitton breaks new ground with this visually stunning volume that captures the city's mysteries, complexity, audacity, dynamism, resilience, iconic sights, and intimate stories.

Alongside these Paris-centric releases, Louis Vuitton is also introducing two new Travel Books, featuring sketchbooks by artists from their travels around the world. The Amsterdam edition showcases the work of French illustrator Laurent Cilluffo, known for his contributions to The New Yorker and his graphic novels. His dizzying portrait of the Dutch capital is imbued with humor and gravity, offering an exhaustive, austere, and silent perspective on the city.

The Indonesia Travel Book features the vibrant drawings of German artist ATAK, also known as Georg Barber. Born in the former German Democratic Republic and blessed with an insatiable appetite, this multitalented artist, illustrator, graphic designer, and creator of comics and children's works, brings his lavish and color-saturated talent to the world's largest archipelago.

Both Travel Books will be available in standard and large-format collector's editions, with trilingual versions in French, English, and Dutch (Amsterdam) or Indonesian (Indonesia). The standard edition (€55) features a landscape format of 28 × 19 cm, with 172 pages printed on offset paper. The large-format collector's edition (€150), limited to 1,000 copies, measures 38.4 × 26.3 cm and includes 172 pages printed on offset paper.

A highly exclusive limited edition of 30 signed and numbered copies, complete with leather binding, slipcase, and a signed lithograph by the artist, will be available exclusively in selected Louis Vuitton stores.

As Louis Vuitton continues to make travel an art and art a vital form of travel, these new releases promise to nurture the priceless dialogue between the two. Whether you're a sports enthusiast eager to explore Paris' athletic scene, a traveler seeking to discover the hidden treasures of the French capital, or an art lover drawn to the unique visions of Amsterdam and Indonesia, these new books offer a captivating journey through the eyes of Louis Vuitton.
